We're a multi-award winning company with clients who keep coming back...
Euro collaboration for Timesnap
October 2011 saw the launch of a transnational two-year project of which Timesnap is a partner.

The EU funded initiative - Digital Latin Quarter (DLQ) sees the company join forces with organisations in Cyprus, Finland, Lithuania and Germany to look at ways of supporting youth-at-risk through innovative educational means.

"We're excited to be a part of this project," said Timesnap managing director, Declan Cassidy. "We've worked with some of these partners before so I'm confident that we've a strong team. That makes all the difference on an undertaking like this."

In 2005, three-time ESB National Media award winning journalist Bill Tyson teamed up with film-maker Declan Cassidy to found Timesnap Limited - a film and media production company. Both men came from a journalistic background, linked to finance in Tyson's case and linked to photography and graphic design in the case of Cassidy. Tyson, who had been prophetic in his campaign to highlight the dubious financial dealings of major financial institutions as Personal Finance Editor of the Irish Independent, sought to continue his investigative journalism through the audio-visual medium of documentary. Cassidy, meanwhile, whose drama concept had been selected for commissioning by Amnesty International, leaned towards fiction in his film making. The two founders also shared a passion for travel and had conversational command of five languages between them. Cassidy's prior experience in working as a media consultant on European Union funded projects also added to the direction that the company would take.

Six years on, Timesnap has struck a comfortable balance between documentary, film and work in the governmental and social sectors. With their first Irish Film Board funded short film "Whatever Turns You On" scooping eight international awards, playing in over a hundred festivals around the world and qualifying for Oscar© consideration in 2010, they have won respect among the film making community. The company's documentary projects have also met with success. The most recent "JJ and the Admiral", which tells the story of Mayo's historical naval hero Admiral William Brown and Foxford shopkeeper JJ O'Hara's inspiring campaign to have him honoured here, in his native land, premiered, recently, to a full house, launched by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

In corporate and social sector work Timesnap has provided media production services for a 'who's who' range of clients. These include the Irish Defence Forces, RTE, the Department of Education here in Ireland as well as its counterpart in Switzerland and a range of European Union projects involving organisations in over 18 European countries. Indeed, 2011 sees Timesnap awarded a partnership role in the European Union funded project "Digital Latin Quarter". In spite of the global downturn and the economic crisis in Ireland, Timesnap has retained a loyal client base of key clients.

"The amount of demand for our services hasn't decreased," explained Cassidy. "The difference is that it's largely in the area of education and career guidance these days."

Current clients in this area include AONTAS (The National Adult Learning Organisation), NCGE (National Centre for Guidance in Education), CDVEC, Meath Partnership and SVEB - The Swiss national Umbrella Organisation for Adult Education.
